14 Jul Bang Salon’s Salon-a-Thon
PIXof DC joined our fellow Washintonian in looking good while doing good by helping to make a difference with only one hairstyle. Bang Salon, the full-service Washington, DC hair salon, hosted an 8-hour Salon-A-Thon on Sunday, July 17 at all of its DC locations. This year’s effort is to bring comfort and support to the victims and families of the recent Orlando mass shootings at Pulse Night Club. Previously, Bang Salon’s annual charity hairstyling fundraiser donated to various local cancer research organizations. This year, Bang Salon is hosting its sixth hairstyling Salon-A-Thon in support of Florida’s LGBT community, with 100 percent of proceeds from each hairstyle donated to the Pulse Victims Fund of Orlando organized by Equality Florida – a nonprofit education and advocacy organization dedicated to securing full equality for Florida’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. Complimentary champagne, mimosas and scrumptious small appetizers were also served to participants throughout the day.
