30 Sep Dardanella: The Great Gatsby Party On The Lawn
With summer coming to a close, PIXofDC joined Dardanella on the grassy knoll! It was a throwback to a simpler time of music, dancing, tasty treats, and savory libations for their inaugural event in the District of Columbia! What a chance to step back to the end of the 1st World War, the Volstead Act (in memoriam), Prohibition, Women’s Suffrage, and the roaring sights and sounds of the 1920’s! Sprawled out before the magnificent towers of The National Cathedral, we returned to an older era of flapper dresses, boater hats, and the big band scores of the 1910’s, 1920’s, & 1930’s. Their were two 11 piece orchestras that warmed up everyone’s feet, dance performances and contests by the Fidgety Feet, DC’s Premiere Dance Team, lawn games including croquet, bocce, and tug o’ war, 2 dance floors, photo sets, food & beverage, specialty alcoholic Prohibition cocktail bars, and much more await! Period attire was strongly encouraged.
